The Lanzarote Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the Canary Islands, with more than 1 million litres of water, distributed in 33 aquariums in which hundreds of marine species can be observed and enjoyed.
Lanzarote Aquarium owns a great biological collection. In it, typical fishes from the Canary Islands, such as the triggerfish, “golden fishes” and “fulas”, and beautiful tropical fishes of different colours and forms, such as clown fishes, poisonous fire dragons, globe fishes, funny lobsters and cleaning crabs, can be found.
Among them, visitors will also be able to observe from our submarine tunnel an ample variety of warm water sharks, swimming gently inside the main water tank of 400,000 litres.
While wondering around the Aquarium you also have a chance to touch some of the creatures and there are many plastic bubbles which magnify’s the fish inside the tanks so no matter how small they might be you will have a good view of the animals.
This aquarium also has a underwater tunnel where you can walk in and see some small sharks swimming just a few feet above your head.
